OUR HISTORY

Sirens of Gotham has accomplished much since its establishment in November 2011, but has grown exponentially since February 2013, when Sirens of Gotham became a chartered chapter of Sweet Adelines International (SAI).

Within SAI, the Sirens have claimed the title of Region 15 Division A (Small Chorus) Champions three times, and won 3rd place overall and a 2nd Place Division AA (Midsize Chorus) at the 2019 Regional Convention, where they also won Most Improved Chorus (31 point increase) for a second time. In October 2018, they made their international competition debut at the SAI Harmony Classic barbershop chorus competition in St. Louis, MO, where they won 1st place Division A and 1st place overall. They appeared for the first time in the main international chorus contest in October 2023, placing 12th overall.

In February of 2020, Sirens of Gotham announced their intention to pursue a dual charter with both Sweet Adelines International and the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS). They have since competed twice at the international BHS chorus contest as part of Gotham Chorus (8th place in Charlotte, NC 2022; 3rd place in Louisville, KY 2024), and in September 2024, Sirens of Gotham qualified to compete in the 2025 international BHS chorus contest in Denver, CO.

In addition to their extensive barbershop experience, they have appeared on multiple televised broadcasts, starred in a television show, opened for D*Cappella, and performed in a variety of world-renowned venues including Lincoln Center.
